The strike featured on the BBC website main education page: College staff in strike over pay

News of the strike also appeared on most of the BBC local pages in the areas affected by the action: College lecturers strike over pay

The strike even made the headlines north of the border in the Scotsman: College staff strike over broken pay promise

SOUTH YORKSHIRE

Doncaster branch chair Hazel Raven was interviewed on the BBC Radio Sheffield breakfast show: The Toby Foster Bigger at Breakfast Show (press play, Hazel's clip is about 1:50 in)

UCU head of further education, Barry Lovejoy, was interviewed for BBC Radio Sheffield news bulletins and the strike at Rotherham featured on the bulletins for Rother FM.

There was coverage of the strikes at Dearne Valley, Rotherham and Doncaster in the Sheffield Telegraph - Lecturers in pay walkout - and Dearne Valley featured in the South Yorkshire Times - Dearne Valley College-lecturers set to strike today - with the Doncaster action covered in the Doncaster Free Press - College shuts as strike and snow hit

COLLEGE OF NORTH WEST LONDON

News of the strike was broadcast on Capital FM and covered in the Harrow Observer - Lecturers strike in wembley - and the Wembley Times - College staff walkout over pay

SUSSEX DOWNS

UCU branch member Mike Wilkinson did interviews for BBC Radio Southern Counties - Sussex Breakfast (press play, Mike's clip is around 2 minutes in) - and Sovereign radio - Lecturers strike

Local radio station Kerrang covered the strike and the Birmingham Mail led with the story - Lecturers on strike in pay row - as did the Rye and Battle Observer - College staff walk out in pay row

CROYDON

News of the strike was broadcast on Capital FM and covered in the Croydon Guardian - Teachers strike but college stays open
