Below you can find the latest list, by region, of jobs being lost in further education and higher education throughout the UK.

The figures as of 8 October 2009 are as follows:

City College Birmingham Agreement has now been reached that there will be no compulsory redundancies at the College and on this basis, there will be no further strike action
City College Norwich Looking to cut 39 jobs
City College Plymouth Has cut 12 jobs, all through voluntary redundancy
City of Bath College 3 compulsory redundancies
City of Bath Sixth Form Academy 20 staff being dismissed and reapplying for jobs
City of Bristol College 14 Jobs being lost
City University '34 jobs were cut in adult education. 60 more jobs were put at risk through a restructure across the university and around half have gone
Coleg Gwent 22 lecturers as part of 74 losses. All voluntary
Coleg Sir Gar 62 redundancies - Agreement has now been reached that there will be no compulsory redundancies at the College and on this basis, we called off the dispute
Coventry College Coventry City College has been told that it has lost the contract for training Jaguar and Land Rover apprentices to Warwickshire College. These staff have now been transferred without job losses
Coventry University 37 posts have been lost, 3 remain at risk of compulsory redundancy
Doncaster College 120 jobs are now at risk following the publication of a new recovery plan for the College, aimed at tackling its deficit. This follows the halting of an earlier cuts programme following a branch campaign and the suspension of the former principal over problems with College finances
Dudley College 2 jobs were lost through voluntary redundancy
East Durham and Houghall College 6 jobs being cut in latest of constant rounds of redundancy
East Surrey College 19 jobs are at risk
Exeter University 8 jobs at risk in Language School
Farnborough College 1 job lost through reduction in HE provision
Gloucestershire University Attempting to cut up to 99 posts with threat of up to 30 compulsory redundancies
Gorseinon College 10 jobs being cut in adult education. UCU members voted for strike action, to be taken on 8 July but with the reopening of negotiations, have suspended their action. All will now be voluntary
Grantham College At least 2 jobs at risk through redundancies to cut costs.
Guildford College 33 staff have taken voluntary redundancy and 4 have been made compulsorily redundant with another 7 FTE's to go. Around 40 teaching jobs at risk
Hackney Community College 20 jobs threatened, branch balloting for industrial action
Harrogate College At least 11 jobs being cut through voluntary redundancy with threat of compulsories.
Harrow College College has made 6 people compulsorily redundant and is threatening more
Hastings College redundancies as part of restructure
Hereward College 7 lecturers at risk through LSC funding cuts
Heriot Watt University 25 jobs being cut to make £3.5 million savings
Hertfordshire University 20 jobs have been cut in a restructure
Highbury College 3 jobs at risk
Hull College 28 FTEs being cut
Hull University 2-300 jobs to be cut up to 2011
Imperial College 63 jobs being cut in the Faculty of Medicine.
Kensington and Chelsea College At least 6 jobs threatened
Kent, University of 6 redundancies in computer science, none compulsory
King's College London Has announced that it intends to cut 10% of its staff budget, amounting to a possible 390 jobs. This is on top of its plans for jobs cuts at its award winning IT department. Staff were told that 30 people will be made redundant, and that they must re-apply for 15 new posts with worse conditions of service.
Kingston Maurward College 3 jobs lost through course cuts

Lampeter, University of Wales 40 jobs being cut, only 6 compulsories
Lancashire Adult Education 12 FTEs at risk
Lancaster, University of Has made fixed-term contract staff redundant
Leeds City College 3 jobs at risk of compulsory redundancy
Leeds College of Building 32 posts in construction
Leeds Metropolitan University 15 academic staff being cut
Leeds University An estimated 187 jobs are at risk in the university as part of a restructuring exercise, 60 in Biological Sciences and 20 in Healthcare.
Leicester College 5 lecturers at risk
Lewisham College 5 or 6 potential redundancies
Lincoln University Have cut 8 jobs as part of saving £500,000
Liverpool Community College Trying to cut up to 40 jobs through voluntary redundancy following withdrawal of LSC funding of £1.6 million for 2009/10.
Liverpool, University of No further threat to jobs
London Met London Metropolitan is now being greylisted following the continued failure of management to consult properly regarding its redundancy scheme to cut 550 jobs. Our understanding is that the university plans to make 160 posts redundant by the end of July next year (which means approximately 180 people will lose their jobs), The union is furious that the university rejected 89 of the 202 applicants for voluntary redundancy (almost half - 44%), which more than covered the number of job losses announced between now and the end of July 2010
Manchester College College has proposed 11 redundancies on the basis of realignment of priorities, not finances. Includes targeting of branch secretary. Has now suspended facilities time for UCU reps
Manchester Metropolitan University 1 job remains at risk (4 avoided)
Merton College 3 potential redundancies
Myerscough College 24 compulsories, poor recruitment, reduced finding and restructure.
Newcastle College The college announced plans for 68 redundancies, blaming cuts in T2G funding
Newport, University of Wales 26 compulsory redundancies through the closure of Equinex and RISE projects
North Nottinghamshire College 15 FTE's at risk because of reduced funding by the LSC. Staff are being made redundant at a time when courses are in great demand. Students are being turned away after their first year qualifications
North Warwickshire and Hinckley College Branch campaign resulted in withdrawal of redundancy threat
Northampton University voluntary severance scheme due to financial problems
Northbrook College 50 jobs being cut
Northumberland College 33 FTEs were at risk because of cuts to the college's train to gain funding. Thanks to union action, this will now be resolved without compulsory redundancies
Nottingham Trent University 4 jobs at risk
Nottingham University voluntary severance scheme due to financial problems
Oxford and Cherwell Valley At least 10 posts being cut due to 'financial difficulties' in the college
Oxford Brookes University 15 jobs have been lost by a combination of voluntary and compulsory redundancy, but the number of compulsories is down to 2. RO Update, Oct09: 6 jobs threatened among researchers in School of Built Environment at Oxford Brookes University.
Pembrokeshire College 20 jobs cut. All VRs
Queen Margaret University Edinburgh Up to 35 jobs being cut with threat of compulsory redundancy through need to make up £3 million deficit
Queen's University Belfast Up to 330 academic posts being cut as part of new academic plan. 103 academic staff been targeted to accept package and leave by the end of the year
Reading, University of Health Care department closed. 15 jobs lost. Now £10 million cuts announced from the budget. This is around 6% and would amount to around 160 jobs
Royal College of Art College seeking 10% savings and asking departments to make savings. 26 jobs are at risk
Royal National College for the Blind Hereford 25 jobs were put at risk but through union intervention only 2 are now at risk
Salford, University of the union has secured agreement that there will be no compulsory redundancies at Salford
Sandwell College 15 jobs were lost in 08/09. All VRs
Sheffield Hallam 20 academic and related posts are being cut and around 320 associate lecturers may lose their jobs
Sheffield, University of Looking to cut jobs across the board to make up for funding shortfall
Solihull College 8 jobs put at risk following reduction in adult education funding. 174 hourly paid lecturers threatened. 5 ft staff redeployed and 3 took VR. 30 HPS took VR and the rest has been put on hold
South Kent College Up to 14 jobs being cut through proposed closure of 6th form centre
Southampton University Review of staffing complete with 61 jobs being cut through VR now and more expected
Southgate College At least 20 jobs are at risk
Southport College 4 jobs being cut through compulsory redundancy following loss of LearnDirect contract
Stanmore College 1 redundancy
Stirling, University of The University wants to cut at least 140 jobs and is looking for compulsory redundancies.  54 fixed term contract staff have already been made redundant
Stoke on Trent College Threat to cut up to 30 jobs across the college
Stranmillis University College Queen's detailed proposals in its Academic Plan to slash academic posts – in particular positions held by teaching fellows - On that basis, most of the teaching staff at Stranmillis looked likely to face redundancy following any merger. This will now not happen. No redundancies are envisaged
Stratford on Avon College 16 jobs being cut through loss of apprenticeships and withdrawal of private money from college projects
Strathclyde University 140 voluntary redundancies being sought
Surrey, University of 20 voluntary redundancies and 4 possible compulsories. Hopeful that pragmatic solution can be found
Sussex Downs College Restructure and possible loss of 9 posts through compulsory redundancy
Sussex, University of Vice Chancellor has announced need to cut £3million this year and £5 million in 2010-11. The real problem will begin in the next month or so when we expect concrete and targeted proposals on how the money is to be saved. This is very likely to include compulsory redundancies of permanent academic staff. 50 FTC posts also at risk now. UPDATE: 115 job losses have since been announced
Swansea College 20 jobs lost. All voluntary
Swansea University 12 jobs at risk in School of Environment and Society
Telford College 3 teaching posts were put at risk but all threats now withdrawn. All are being redeployed
Thames Valley University Slough campus at risk and a number of issues.  TVU has just announced 8 FTE's – 7 in its Ealing Faculty of Arts and one at its Reading Faculty of Arts
Tower Hamlets College 40 FTEs were threatened, including compulsory redundancies, but following indefinite strike action from 27 August, a resolution has now been reached whereby the job cutting programme has ceased with no compulsory redundancies
Trafford College At least 22 jobs being lost due to funding shortfall of £1.2 million
Tyne Met College Tyne Met College announced that it would be making 45 job losses because of slashes to T2G funding
UCL UCL has announced that it wants to cut up to 400 jobs in seeking to save £20 million from its budget. The distribution of the cuts is as follows: Arts & Humanities, Social & Historical Sciences, SSEES and Laws - all 2%; MAPS - 5.1%; Engineering Sciences - 4.8%; Bartlett - 4.8%; Life Sciences - 10.4%; Biomedical Sciences - 6.9%
University College Falmouth/Dartington Planning to cut 52 jobs
University of the Arts At least 100 job losses are threatened and up to 300 people are at risk. Cuts have been announced at London College of Fashion (4 posts) ; Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Schools of Art (46); and London College of Communication where significant course closures are planned and 63 salaried posts and over 200 part-time hourly-paid Associate Lecturer jobs are to be cut. The branch are now in dispute following inadequate consultation
Warwick University 48 jobs being cut
Warwickshire College At least 32 FTEs (40 jobs) were put at risk following cuts in adult ed funding - no compulsories
West Nottinghamshire College 2 compulsory redundancies
West of England, university of UCU and the university have issued a joint statement committing to work together to ensure that Languages has a sustainable future
Westminster, University of Ceramics department closed with loss of at least 7 jobs
Winchester, University of 2 jobs being cut
Wolverhampton University The university has announced a redundancy programme which involves the loss of 250 jobs (one in ten staff) in a bid to save just over £8 million. VR scheme in operation till end of October
Writtle College 3 compulsory redundancies
Yale College At least 17 jobs at risk - 62 redundancies - Agreement has now been reached that there will be no compulsory redundancies at the College and on this basis, we called off the dispute
York University 103 posts are to be cut by September
Yorkshire Coast College 16 staff at risk due to financial deficit of £400,000
