Unemployed membership

If you become unemployed, but are looking for another post within the sector, you can keep your membership open at no charge by transferring to attached unemployed membership.  You can transfer your membership using our online service My UCU.

This form of membership is free for up to one year, or until you obtain a new post, whichever is sooner.

Please note that we will not be able to assist in your job-seeking, but should you need to you will be able to seek union assistance on work-related issues from the first day of your new employment.
