UCU to lobby Scottish Parliament for job cuts moratorium

The demonstration, which has been organised by UCU Scotland and the Educational Institute of Scotland, will call on the government to meet the funding gap in Scottish higher education and to put pressure on university managers to have a moratorium on cuts while the new funding situation is addressed.

The unions are also calling on MSPs to honour election commitments to hold a review into the management and governance of Scottish universities and colleges.
