Fear of debt and concerns over cost could be deterring significant numbers of young people from going to university, or choosing the most appropriate place to study, warns new evidence published today.
Responding to a new government website launched today offering students more information when choosing a degree, UCU said students needed real support from government, rather than gimmicks, in order to make informed choices about their future.
Members of UCU are today being balloted for industrial action in a dispute over pay. The union will ballot all its members working in higher education in the UK and the ballot will close on Wednesday 10 October.
