UCU NEC casual vacancies

Ballots for two casual vacancies on the National Executive Committee open on Friday 5 September and close on Thursday 2 October 2014.

The following casual vacancies exist:

  • geographically-elected NEC member, North West, from the further education sector  
  • UK-elected NEC member from the higher education sector.

Information : InformationBallot material is being dispatched on Friday 5 September, by economy delivery. This can take a few days to arrive. If you have not received the ballot material by Monday 15 September you should contact the union, email Kay Metcalfe, providing full name, membership number, branch, and the full postal address at which the ballot paper should have been received. Further information about the ballot period can be found in circular UCU/599 (UCU599.html | UCU599.rtf).

Ballot material for the geographically-elected seat will only be sent to further education members in branches in the North West. All members in the HE sector will receive ballot material for the HE UK-elected casual vacancy.

Branches' attention is drawn to the guidance that the NEC has agreed in respect of the officer and NEC elections, which refers to campaigning.  This can be found  (.pdf) file type icon here. (.pdf) [69kb]

The deadline for the receipt of nominations was 5:00pm on Friday 11 July 2014.  The nominations received are set out below.  Election addresses can be found by clicking on candidates' names.
