Mental health is a trade union issue: 3 October 2019, London

This one day course is designed for reps who want to develop an understanding of why mental health is a trade union issue and to seek to ensure working practices support equality. This course would benefit both UCU equality reps, health and safety rep and others in the branch who represent or negotiate on behalf of members.

Please ensure that you can commit to attending the course in its entirety prior to submitting your application form, and further ensure that you have secured time off from your employer to attend.

Although you must be a UCU rep in order to attend this course, there is no requirement to have attended any UCU reps training prior to this course. However, a clear understanding of your local branch bargaining machinery will be advantageous. If you are a new rep and would like to attend this course please contact your branch chair or secretary to discuss how your branch negotiates policy with the employer.
