Don't forget to vote in our elections

19 February 2020

Don't forget to post your votes in the annual elections for UCU vice president, trustees, and seats on our national executive committee.

A lot of members don't realise how much of a democratic say they have in how UCU is run. This year it would be great to see a big increase in turnout to reflect the success we've had in recent ballots and disputes and the growth in our membership that's accompanied it.

The people you elect will make decisions about the implementation of UCU policy, industrial action, and much more. Click here to read more about the elections and why they matter

This year I am very keen to see as many members in further education voting as possible. The sector is undergoing a lot of change and there are important disputes heading our way in Wales, Northern Ireland and England, so it's crucial that you elect reps who you feel will represent your interests.

You can now order a new ballot paper by filling in this form. If you are one of the tens of thousands of members in higher education branches who are currently taking strike action, you can use this form to get a fresh ballot paper sent to your home address - even if your normal address for mail from UCU is in your workplace. This means that you won't have to cross a picket line to exercise your democratic rights. However, you must complete the form no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 26 February to receive your new ballot paper.
