University and College Union annual congress 2014

Forcing key issues in further and higher education onto political parties' agendas will be behind debates at UCU's annual conference next month.

Delegates from universities and colleges across the UK will meet in Manchester for the union's final congress before next year's general election. Key themes to be discussed and debated at the two-day event will include the future of funding for post-16 education, pay, workloads, professionalism and marketisation.
 
On Thursday 29 and Friday 30 May delegates will gather at Manchester Central for the event. More details on the motions up for discussion and a timetable of the event can be found at www.ucu.org.uk/congress 
 
Media credentials
Journalists wishing to attend need to apply for media credentials before 5pm on Thursday 22 May. To apply for media credentials email dashley@ucu.org.uk with the name of the journalist, their email address and mobile phone number. Members of the press will need to present identification and a valid press card to collect their accreditation at the event.
