HE Collective Bargaining Training, 2-3 May 2019, Cardiff

This course is aimed at those in the HE sector to enable branches to negotiate at local level in line with UCU's National and the UCU Wales bargaining agenda.

Why attend?

The ability to conduct successful negotiations is paramount to a branches effectiveness and strength. This course is an opportunity for reps and officers involved in branch negotiations at all levels to increase their understanding and confidence to better represent UCU members.

The course will examine:

  • building a strong negotiating team
  • legal rights that may be used to support negotiations
  • the different stages of negotiation
  • understanding the collective bargaining process
  • submitting a strong claim
  • information and support needed to run effective negotiations
  • assessing your local situation - politically, socially & economically
