Welsh assembly elections 2016

The main political parties in Wales have all now published their manifestos in the run up to the Welsh Assembly elections, which are only two weeks away (5 May 2016)
We have produced a summary below of how the political parties pledge to address the issues that were raised in the UCU Wales Manifesto [214kb] along with a small amount of additional information that  addresses some wider UCU issues.
We urge you to engage with your local candidates in the run up to the election and afterwards with AM's of the new government, to keep up the pressure for an appropriately funded and regulated post 16 sector.  We have put together a list of suggested questions [121kb] for you to ask Welsh Assembly candidates.  The UCU Wales equality committee has also put together a set of specific equality questions [141kb], which you may also like to use.
Please pass any answers (and any other relevant Q&A's you ask) back to Lisa Edwards who will circulate them to branches.
