Academic-related staff annual meeting

Annual meeting for UCU academic-related staff: the next meeting will held on 10 March 2010

The UCU's annual meeting for academic-related staff will be held on Wednesday 10 March 2010 at UCU head office in Carlow Street, London NW1 7LH from 10.00 am (registration from 9.30am) to 4.00pm.

The term 'academic-related staff' covers a wide range of roles in Higher Education; information services, computing, student support and administration in grades represented by UCU. These roles are regarded as 'academic related' because of the level of knowledge and skills involved in these roles and in recognition of the vital role that these members make to the university academic team. In UCU, academic-related roles are currently broken down into three broad categories: administrative roles, library roles and computing roles.

The meeting will hear reports on the work of UCU in relation to academic-related staff and will have the opportunity to discuss motions submitted by branches and local associations. There will also be a number of speakers and workshops which are likely to include sessions on campaigning in relation to the 2010 pay claim, funding cuts and fighting redundancies, outsourcing and privatisation and the national organising plan in relation to academic related staff. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network with colleagues.

Branch/local association representatives will be elected in accordance with branch/local association rules. Delegates will have expenses paid by UCU and lunch will be provided.
