UCU training programme

Whether you are new to UCU or an experienced activist, UCU training will give you the opportunity to increase and develop your knowledge and skills in a number of key areas.

The UCU training programme is delivered on a regional basis and is therefore an ideal opportunity for members to learn from and network with other branches and LAs in their region. The programme includes courses for:

  • UCU representatives
  • UCU safety representatives
  • UCU learning representatives
  • UCU green representatives
  • UCU equality representatives

For full details of these and other courses that UCU offer, choose from the list on the right.

When applying to attend a course, please inform your local branch/LA committee. This is particularly important as you may need support from your branch/LA in securing your statutory rights to time-off. If you do not know who to contact in your LA/branch please contact your regional office or email: training@ucu.org.uk

UCU training courses are open to all members who are new to being a UCU activist or that have never attended training. We recommend that all UCU representatives fulfil their rights to time off to train enabling them to achieve and receive an accreditation. Please read the course information carefully to ensure the course content will meet your needs. Reasonable costs for attending courses that are part of the UCU training programme will be reimbursed from central funds.

If you're not currently a member, click here to join. Places on all courses are limited so you are encouraged to register promptly to avoid disappointment.
