Prison education annual meeting

A conference for branch delegates employed in prison education.


2014 Prison Education Annual Meeting

28 March
UCU Head Office, Carlow Street, London, NW1 7LH

  • Deadline has been extended to noon on Friday 21 March
  • Speakers are now confirmed as Sharon Barrett, NOMS & Richard Ward, Offender Skills and Employment Team

This meeting is for Prison Education Reps. Each prison education department may send one voting representative to the annual meeting. In addition where there is an established Prison Branch that branch will be entitled to send a delegate who will be elected by the branch members.

The meeting will hear reports on the work UCU do in relation to Prison Education Staff. The meeting will provide an opportunity to debate the challenges facing prison education staff. There will be workshops to address particular issues facing prison education staff, and there will be a keynote speaker. During the day there will also be plenty of opportunity to network with colleagues.

2011 meeting

The 2011 meeting was be held on Friday 25 March 2011.

2010 meeting

The 2010 meeting looked at UCU's work on prison education

and OLASS3 and new funding arrangements

2009 meeting

The main issues for discussion were the current re-tendering process and the impact on members' employment, pensions and TUP E protection. There were also discussions about the way UCU can organise and prepare for possible transfer to different employers as well as organising and recruitment of new members.
