Finding your way around this site

You can find the information you want on this site in a number of ways:

  • use the search facility by typing in the subject you are looking for and click on 'go' 
  • use the site map to see an overview of the site's main areas
  • browse through the site by clicking on main menu.

Accessibility and accesskeys

Accesskeys are keyboard shortcuts used for quickly navigating around the site; not all web browsers include this feature, but they are especially useful for screenreaders. The current UCU website accesskeys are as follows:

  • s = skip navigation
  • 1 = go to the home page
  • 3 = go to the sitemap

To use the keys:

Alt + [the accesskey]:

  • Internet Explorer for Windows
  • Chrome for Windows (not that Shift is required in some circumstances
  • Safari for Windows

Shift + Alt + [the accesskey]:

  • Firefox for Windows

Ctrl + Option + [the accesskey]:

  • Safari for Mac
  • Chrome for Mac
  • Firefox for Mac

The majority of documents available from the UCU site are available in either Portable Document Format (PDF), rich text format (RTF) or both. Occasionally we are restricted to supplying only Microsoft Word® documents. If a document is provided in a format you can't access, please contact the web team for an alternative format.
