Annual meeting for UCU Migrant members', taking place during the annual UCU equality conference
The annual equality groups conference 2024 will be held at Hotel & Conference Centre, Aston University from Thursday 28 November - Saturday 30 November 2024
The migrant members' conference will be on Thursday 28 November from 09:30 - 13:00
The theme for this year's conference is: Defending Migration, Resetting the Narrative
Despite a change in government, migrants are still at the receiving end of anti-migrant sentiment in the UK. This conference will focus on what we could do to defend migration as a net good to UK society, reset the narrative, and hold the new UK Labour government to account for migrants' rights.

Motions deadline, Thursday, 7 November 2024
Branches/local associations are invited to submit up to three appropriate motions relevant to migrant members. Motions must have been approved either by a quorate general meeting, or by a properly constituted meeting of migrant members.

Nominations deadline, Thursday 14 November 2024
Nominees to this committee must be in good membership standing, be a migrant member, (this being self defined) and be employed with the last 12 months.

General conference information
There is plenty of opportunity throughout the day to network with other colleagues as well as to take part in various workshops The conference discusses and votes on motions submitted by branches/local associations. The carried motions advise the NEC about the views of women members. Nominations to the committee are also collected and counted during the day.
