Support for Scottish ambitions, but proper funding needed

Commenting on today's Scottish draft budget announcement, Mary Senior, UCU's Scotland official, said: 'The challenges facing universities are enormous, and significantly more money is needed to plug the teaching funding gap.

'UCU fully supports the Scottish government's ambition for an "education-led recovery", but government needs to properly fund higher education. We'll be working over the coming weeks to continue to make that case for fair funding for universities as a step to recovery out of this pandemic.'
