National executive committee casual vacancies

Geographically-elected NEC member, HE North East; UK-Elected NEC member, HE
Andrew Feeney (Northumbria University) was elected to Honorary Treasurer in March 2025 and took up office at the close of UCU's annual Congress in May 2025, having served only one year of a two-year term as a geographically elected NEC member for HE North East.
Ann Gow (University of Glasgow) was elected to Honorary Secretary of UCU Scotland in March 2025 and took up office at the close of UCU's annual Congress in May 2025, having served only one year of a two-term as a UK-elected NEC member for HE.
In accordance with rules 21.5 and 21.8, by-elections must now be held.
The terms of office for both casual vacancies will be from the declaration of the election result until the end of UCU's annual Congress in 2026.
Nominations
Nominations for the above positions closed at 5:00pm on Thursday 10 July 2025.
Ballots for both contested elections will open on 18 August 2025 and close on 18 September 2025.
Results of these elections will be made available to members as soon as practical after the receipt of the scrutineer's report.
