UCU Live, Thursday 9 October 19:00: exposing vice-chancellor hypocrisy

As we build towards industrial action ballot papers landing with you, we will host the latest UCU Live broadcast on Thursday 9 October (19:00).

It cannot be accepted that we have seen a 1.4% pay offer imposed on university staff whilst vice-chancellors across the UK are some of the highest paid leaders in UK industry.

It is totally unjustified that this level of reward is handed out while thousands of our members are facing redundancy programmes, facing pay cuts, insecure contacts and ever increasing workloads.

UCU is working hard in the media to expose the hypocrisy but we need your help too.

This week:

1. Speak to a colleague and convince them to vote YES in the ballot
2. Speak to a non-member in your workplace and ask them to join UCU
3. Encourage everyone to join Thursday's UCU live session.

Please share the UCU Live link via email, social media, messaging services and any other method you prefer.

On Thursday we expose the senior leaders in our sector. Then when ballot papers land, we start the process of challenging the status quo.
