College strike off after High Court ruling
13 October 2014
A strike planned for tomorrow in English colleges is off. The colleges' employer body, the Association of Colleges (AoC), supported an injunction in the High Court to get the action stopped.
Members of the UCU in English colleges were due to be out on strike in a row over pay.
The union said it had defended members' right to strike in court, but would abide by the decision. UCU members in colleges in England should go to work as normal tomorrow.
