Bargaining for a Green New Deal: 9 , December, 2025, North West Region, Online

This course is for all Green reps along with those in the branch who are interested in bargaining around environmental issues. The course will help reps navigate UCU Green New Deal bargaining advice and enable you to work on a potential claim to the employer along with looking at a deep organising approach to any campaign strategy.

Course meeting dates:	9, December 2025 Please ensure you can attend the entire course prior to submitting your application  form. Please further ensure you have secured time off from your employer to attend.
Course meeting times:	9:30 to 4:30 (it is recommended you arrive at the venue for 9 a.m. as teaching will start 9:30 a.m.)
Course time commitment:	8 - 9 hours including pre-course work
Location:	Online - Course materials are held on a unique UCU sharepoint site. You will be given a login and instructions nearer the course. Please be aware you will need to use your 'incognito' or 'private browsing' window to access the sharepoint site. Do not ask for access via your personal or work sharepoint. Course delivery will be conducted with a tutor via zoom.
Please be aware: Applications for this course will at 12 Noon on Friday 5th December 2025. This is to allow course logistics, logins etc. to be completed in good time. Applications after this date risk not being accepted. Course content This course will cover: why climate justice is a trade union issue preparing a Green New Deal (GND) claim building UCU locally - how to get members fully involved strengthening links with other unions, students and wider community campaigning around your green new deal claim.
UCU courses are funded via members' contributions and public funding.

The information submitted to the UCU training team via this form will be used for the purpose of administering your training request and shared with the delivering college/course tutor.
For UCU courses that attract central government funding, the delivering college will ask for your passport or other residency details to complete the college enrolment form. The college by law have to prove that they are funding appropriately. UCU have contacted colleges about this issue and are lobbying for change. As it stands however, if you cannot for whatever reason show the correct details when asked, UCU may be charged for your place, or the college will not accept you onto the course.
