The Charter for Women was launched at a fringe meeting at the TUC Women's Conference in March 2003. Its aim is to revitalise the socialist feminist movement in the UK and to connect the struggle against women's oppression in society with the campaigns of working women and their trade unions.

We want to inspire a new generation of women to challenge sexism and racism and ensure that the fight for women's rights is at the forefront of the agenda of the labour movement and of other social movements.

Many trade unions and women's organisations have affiliated. This is our second conference: its aim is to create a campaigning organisation around the Charter's demands. Come and tell us how you think we can achieve this.
