Teaching and Learning: a new governance focus

This event, organised by UCU, LSIS and UNISON, was open to all staff governors. Practical and skills focused, it explored the theme of Teaching and learning: a new governance focus.

Objectives:
The conference objectives were for delegates to:
- Learn from Ofsted about their new Common Inspection Framework and what it means for governors.
- Take part in a case study with the Chair of the quality and standards committee at Exeter College on how the governing body there helped drive quality improvement, and achieved success in a recent no-notice inspection.
- Understand more about the Gazelle Group and a new initiative on teaching and learning.
- Have an opportunity to discuss and debate current issues in staff governance with other staff governors.
