Watchdog says cuts to prison education are being hidden

An independent watchdog has evidence that the cuts to prison education budgets are 'seismic' and accuse government ministers of downplaying them. The Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) accused the Prison Service of providing misleading information on 'swingeing' cuts which were up to 65% in some prisons, leading to cuts in teaching posts, provision and increases in class sizes.
