Petition to revoke petroleum recovery legislation

We're encouraging members to sign a petition asking the government to revoke legislation which makes it a legal obligation to 'maximise economic recovery of UK petroleum' - committing this and future governments to maximise emissions from UK fossil fuels.

At the same time, they have legal obligations to minimise them: essential because of the climate crisis.

UCU is also hosting a joint session on climate, strikes and solidarity at the national meeting and AGM of the Campaign Against Climate Change Trade Union Group taking place on 2 November 2019. To attend you will need to be a member of the Campaign against Climate Change and you can join on the day.
