Health and safety in higher education - online briefing

7 July 2020

UCU members have responded magnificently to the many challenges created by the pandemic and its wide ranging impact on the way members work, both on and off campus. UCU has produced a range of advice and bargaining materials to help and support you and your branch at this unprecedented time.

We know that discussions are taking place about the start of the new academic year and what a return to work for all staff and students could look like. UCU has five key tests for the safe return to work  and we have produced guidance based on the law to help branches negotiate a risk assessment-led agreements with employers.

To further support branches we have organised a health and safety HE online briefing, which will take place on Monday 13 July 6.30 - 7.30pm. The session is open to health and safety and other branches reps and also members who are interested in finding out the latest developments. The session will be hosted by Paul Bridge, UCU head of HE, and Alex Lancaster UCU health and safety official.

To find out more about the briefing, how to register and submit questions please contact David Bussell.
