Spine point values have been rounded, but are calculated on an unrounded basis from year-to-year.

*2017-18 settlement

The approach to bottom loading was to apply 1.7% or £365 whichever was the greatest. The 2017-18 pay settlement was presented as a set of rounded percentage increases to be applied to pay spine points 1 to 16.

^2018-19 settlement

Increases of 2.0% or £425 whichever is the greater.

2019-20 settlement

Tapered increases weighted toward the bottom points, from 3.65% (point 3) to 1.8% (point 17 up). Point 2 deleted.

°2020-21 settlement

Zero percent offer (Covid-19 pandemic).
