NEC casual vacancy: further education - South

Attention is drawn to the following national executive committee casual vacancy for which nominations are now open:

Geographically-elected NEC  member, South, from the further education sector

Kieran Hurrell (City College Plymouth) resigned from the NEC in April, having served less than one year of a two-year term as a geographically elected NEC member for FE South.  In accordance with rules 21.5 and 21.8, a by-election must now be held.

Term of office

The term of office for this casual vacancy will be from the declaration of the election result until the end of UCU's annual Congress in 2023.  If a ballot is required this will take place in September 2022.

Nominations

The calling notice for this vacancy is now available and the nomination form is available below. Attention is also drawn to the election guidance notes .  The deadline for receipt of nominations is 17:00 on Friday 8 July 2022, including the receipt of all support for nominations, and receipt of election address.  Nominations can be submitted in either hard copy or by email.  Hard copy nominations should be formally addressed to the President and marked for the attention of Kay Metcalfe, Constitution and Committees Officer, UCU, Carlow Street, London NW1 7LH.  Nominations submitted by email (attaching signed, scanned sheets) should be sent to kmetcalfe@ucu.org.uk.
